About Vella

In 1971, amidst the misty hills of Sri Lanka, Mr. A. P. D. Abeyrathne planted the seeds of what would become a remarkable legacy. With the purchase of the Uva Halpewatte Tea Estate & Factory, and alongside his wife, Mrs. Nalini Rajapaksha, he set out to craft more than just fine tea, he built a family-driven dream rooted in quality, integrity, and vision.

This venture laid the foundation for Vella’s growth, expansion, and diversification into new sectors, establishing a strong legacy in tea, leisure, and adventure.
